Lookin' back, Colin realised that the boys in blue, in London, had made the wrong assumptions (never assume)
that Colin was a bomber! He was banged up in the cooler for 24 hours and then released without charge.
Colin merely phoned 999 to inform that the 'customer' in the toy store was 'possilby' a bomber; but his call
was recognised by them to throw him in the cooler. After the call Colin drifted from street to street; road to
the nearby railway station; in short he was lost! As a result he had an Epilepsy Automatism. This type of fit is
never seen by anyone else as Colin is behaving in such a normal way that no one recognises the Automatism.
Lucky for Colin the boys in blue caught up with Colin as he was in a complete daze. The mental health PC recognises
Colin was disorientated and they escorted him to St George's Hospital to convalesce.
After a week or two Colin's brother Scott made the effort to get to London and find him, sort of missing in action.
Scott found Colin him a little less dazed than the initial pick up by the Police.
In terms of the Epilepsy well, it's very rare that the patient continually has fits - they vary from day to day,
week to week. A person can go without a fit for several weeks and then, particularly, if the medication is not taken.
then a convulsion is possible. Colin's trigger was the call to 999 and the subsquent Police involvement.
Better to inform and be wrong than not to inform and be correct!
Once home Colin found the boredom was too much and to obviate the boredom he designed and built a miniature
amplifier for his Sony Walkman.
