War by Stef. Anderson

A thought-provokin' poem : it's not that armed forces are at fault, but the cins of society they live in these days stipulates that war still prevails. Hardly. There is no 'win' in war. Please refer to 'Plato' & 'Wellington' in Poetry. There is an alternative way = IF it could be accepted. War is just an extremely bad habit. Like father - like son!

Chinese Proverb from Confucius: War never determined who was right - but who was left.
Lest we Forget!

In the midst of the Ottoman Empire
The children, the men and women will tire;
Some shady business boys,
Continue to sell their new toys;

The Governments of countries buy arms;
The Patriot, the Cruise, the alarms;
Which in the end only harms.
From the weapons of mass destruction.
Iraqi liberation gives a little consternation.

Some run the multi-national corporate club.
To aid and finance some politicians' pub!
Then the war engine contacts the wives,
To inform them of the fate of soldiers' lives
And behind the doors of those who cry,
They endlessly ask the question - why?
