Jimmy gets three weeks off after leading the raids on the enemy.
He decides to take his leave & go home to Glasgow to see his mates & family.The commanders give him three weeks off
- never known before - but Jimmy makes the best of it. He decides to go to a huge pub in Ingram Street. The door boys are
on the door. Jimmy intimates, 'High', as he enters the huge building. He decided immediately, 'Yeah this looks good - loads
of women! Well, the next week, Jimmy goes back again. The same door boys are on the door - one looked only twenty
five. Jimmy approaches and says, 'High,' to the boy. The boy responds, 'You're barred!' Jimmy retorts, 'Barred? What for?' The boy says, 'Move on!' Jimmy goes home and decides, 'Some of these young boys don't realise how far soldiers have been on their behalf.' Jimmy goes back quickly and asks the kid, 'Son, what would you do if you had been held at gunpoint on the French-Belgian border 1983?'
The kid says, 'Move on.' Jimmy answers him, 'Correct.'
