Had it not been for the Irish, Robert the Bruce would never have beaten
the English at Bannockburn (1314) = Blind Harry!

1690 was James II -
Seven notable Englishmen later named the 'Immortal Seven', sent the letter
'The Invitation for William III Prince of Orange', to do the fighting.

Had it not been for the Americans both in 1917 and 1941 (Pearl Harbour) the British
would have been a German (or) nazi state respectively.
