..
I first seen the code done by a woman in a good Italian restaurant in Sauchiehall Street.
Steph. indicated on the first instruction to keep 20 pees + 50 pees for landline phones.
Never use mobiles. On our way to the Alexandra Bar we passed another lady. She advised
us, 'Just don't talk about that "thing". Despite the fact that Steph. had epilepsy she could still coordinate as a team leader.'
Akmar decided that we should stay away from the city. They found a quiet bar, the Black Bull. No puggies; no splittering out of noises; and especially - no television - worst case scenario!
Akmar enters the bar with Steph.; he announces to Billy, 'O' Salam o' leek am.' Billy retorts,
'Wee leek 'am Solam'.
It was some weeks before that Akmar, drinking himself,
was pulled up by the lassie working behind the bar. As Akmar entered and, politely asked for a pint of Cold Guinness,
he was refused, 'Sorry, can't serve you,' she said. It was discovered some weeks before, by the junior manageress -
a girl aged at most twenty-five - that Akmar was psychotic i.e. Akmar had a psychosis caused by both life experience and a
thing called Bipolar Affective Disorder. Akmar was mad & sad - but he wasn't bad!
Take it back to the pub, as far as it could be
remembered, it was something to do with a horse on West Regent Street! Akmar interjected, 'Darlin' do you realise how
far soldiers have been on your behalf?' Akmar, having served, was good at self control and just as good at self belief.
The lassie said, 'See you later.' Akmar retorted, 'Don't think so darlin'.' He walked out quietly. Akmar took the ribbin'
back in his unit.
His life was chaotic. The soul cause of his Temporal Lobe Epilepsy; Manic Depression; Angst and Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder was caused by a brain abscess at aged three; hospitilisation; head injury; trauma & stress in
1965; 1975; 1983; 1990; 2001 to 2024. It was discovered that Akmar frequently had the thousand yard stare.
He attended the Stress Unit just beyond the island of Ailsa Craig.
Steph., with a little hesitation, communicated in the best way she could, thumbs up on her left cheek . And with that
Steph, sitting on the reverse side of the table, said, 'Only a few would know, but more than a million do not.'
Billy interceded, 'Only a few would know, but how many care?' He then reciprocated - thumbs up on his right cheek. After
that the team of four settled down and grabbed a coffee and a cigarette before beginning the work in progress.
Steph. was now comfortable that she could open up to the rest of the team.
That night, in the hotel in Ayr, Steph. finds a book by James Patterson, entitled, 'Run for Your Life.' The book was found
on the left hand edge of the fireplace shelf. This suggested to Steph. that whoever left the book behind could have deduced
the optimum permutation of the secret Code and realised that when she passed the book by her left hand then Sharif Mohammed
Arquar would take the book by his right hand. In this way it got to the right person. It seemed that Arquar had already known
of the secret operating system..
