Epilepsy

The condition that is often misconstrued,
That causes many a family feud;
The fears to tell only a few,
And in turn, the diagnosed want to tell you.

Based upon one's seizure threshold,
A lower one can take hold;
But for those who are still immune -
Their seizure threshold is fortunately highly in tune.

There are many of those well skilled,
But employers often say 'the post is filled';
And in disgust of those who discriminate,
Quite often those diagnosed sometimes say it's too late.

And when a seizure takes hold,
Be sure the person is told;
Be sure they are reassured,
Despite what they have endured.

Of those who could be seen as being unstable,
Should be seen as a person not a label;
And when equal opportunities are established,
Then the person's ability should not be tarnished.

Epilepsy is not contagious
