Writing a book is just like music - it has its ups and downs; highs and lows; noisy and quiet;
subdued and violent.

Writing is a hobby for a lot of people. As it is said, 'There is a story in everyone.'

It is best that you find 'where' is comfortable for you to write because you may write better in the kitchen with classical music on; the library or a quiet bar with good Guinness ..

Main character is the protagonist; Ups & Downs to finale at the end; A lot of stories have the twist in the tale at the last sentence of the last chapter Onomatopeia & alliteration used eg whoosh; balm; splash & the daring diving dolphin. 1st person (for autobiographies) is 'I did this' 'I met Carol at the cinema' 3rd person is 'Colin and Carol had coffee and then went to the cinema'. Carry a small notepad with you - this gives you the opportunity to do autosuggestion.

There are basically three parts to a story : the Start; the Middle and the End. Another way of putting this is : generally; specifically and in conclusion. At the start of the story you will form the characters : their names, their identities and their general behaviours. After this is done you will next move into the middle and decide what the crux of the story will be. For example, when I wrote 'The Oval' the crux of the story was a mathematics class which was attended by Snoopy (Sam's nephew). Sam is the protagonist - the main character - which you will decide upon who that will be. Build around the punch line in the middle and expand around the start and the conclusion.

There should be ups & downs of the characters with the protagonist mainly as part of the one that holds them together. This should be worked through your story until at the end when the finale is where the the good characters win the day to a happy / rounded end. A lot of stories have the twist in the tale near the end of the story - certainly in the last chapter.

There are certain ways of putting your story together : use onomatopoeia + alliteration, such as whiz, bump bang and whoosh etc. + the daring diving dolphins respectively.
